Dieter Deckert, President of the Clan MacLaren Society of Germany visited our President, Markus Kewitz and his wife Martina. Together with Ralf and Marion Berger from Clan MacLaren, they had a wonderful evening! A good chance to strengthen the good relationship between our Societies!

We have to announce that Gibson Rivers McKenzie died Sunday, January 17th, 2010 in Birmingham, U.S.A.. He was the convener of Clan MacKenzie in the Americas and a fighter for Scottish interests! A true Mackenzie has left us.

Successful Highland Games
Our first Highland Games, held together with the Clans MacKay und MacLaren, were very successful. Nearly 4500 visitors were enthused by the competitions, the social program and the Clan Tents. In 2010 we will hold Highland Games again!
We honoured our friends Siggi Schierstedt-MacKay from Clan MacKay und Dieter Deckert from Clan MacLaren at the campfire in the evening. They achieved a document signed by Cabarfeidh which entitles them "Friend of Clan Mackenzie"!
Many thanks to Dirk Stranowsky, Adrian Marquardt and Hans-Jürgen & Gundela Gliese who helped us to run the Clan Tent!

New Societies in Norway and Austria
In 2008 two new Societies have been founded! There are Clan Mackenzie Societies in Norway and Austria! A warm welcome to our friends!

New Committee
At the AGM on 21. March 2009 the Committee has been completed. Dirk Stranowsky and John Mackenzie are the new Commissioners of the Clan Mackenzie Society of Germany. Together we will meet the challenges of the future. The AGM was completly successfull. Special thanks to our Band, the "Highroad Pipes and Drums". They played a little concert on Wewelsburg Castle. In the evening they raised the roof of the hotel with a repertoire of Scottish Tunes and experimental music like Spanish folklore or pieces like "The Lion sleeps tonight", played with Great Highland Pipes, Drums and Guitar!

On the 1st of November, the leaders of the only three officially recognized Clan Societies in Germany came together. In a warm and friendly atmosphere and with a dram of Scotch they agreed in setting a Clan Alliance to act in concert in many ways. Please click on the category "Clan Alliance" for more information!

On 14. July 2008 Peadair Mackenzie, President of the Clan Mackenzie Society of Scotland and the U.K., died after a short illness. He has been President of the Scottish Society for a long time and managed the international Clan Gatherings ehich take place every 5 years. He was a true Mackenzie! Our thoughts are with his family.
At the Highland Games in Hamm it was arranged to strenghten the friendship between the Clan Mackenzie and the Clan MacKay. Markus Kewitz, President of the Clan Mackenzie Society of Germany and Siggi MacKay, Chieftain of the Clan MacKay Germany e.V. agreed in the formation of a Clan Alliance. We are looking forward to cooperating in the future. Our best wishes to our friends from the Clan MacKay!

Thank you very much for such a splendid certificate and your kindness in making me your Hon President which I gladly accept. I do hope that you and other Members of the Clan Mackenzie Society of Germany will come over to Scotland in 2010 for our International Clan Mackenzie Gathering.
